In 1968, Mem Fox, a budding writer, made a pivotal decision that would shape her future. At 22, she was in London, completing her drama course, when a realization dawned: "I don't want to be an actress; I want to be a writer."
Fast forward to 1983, and Fox, now 37, introduced the world to Possum Magic, a children's book that would become an instant classic. This journey, however, was not without its twists and turns.
